Isola 2000 is a high-altitude ski resort in the Southern French Alps, situated close to the Italian border and just a short drive from the French Riviera. Known for its microclimate, it uniquely blends heavy winter snowfall with exceptional Mediterranean sunshine. The resort features convenient ski-in/ski-out accommodation and a user-friendly layout.
The base village sits high at 2,000 meters, with lifts ascending to 2,610 meters at the peaks of Cime de Pelevos and Cime de Sistron. The season generally runs from early December to late April. Although there is no glacier, the high elevation combined with modern snowmaking guarantees reliable slope conditions through spring.
The peak run from Cime de Sistron is the resort's standout descent, offering breathtaking panoramic views that extend to the Mediterranean Sea on clear days. Piste 'Sistron' delivers an exciting challenge for intermediate and advanced skiers. Freestylers often head to 'Tony's Snowpark', a well-known terrain park packed with modules for all abilities.
The resort maintains a relaxed, family-focused atmosphere centered around easy convenience. Accommodation is largely modern and high-rise with indoor shopping galleries connecting key complex areas. Après-ski centers around sunny outdoor terraces and welcoming mountain bars near the front snowline, offering warm French hospitality rather than wild nightlife.
Isola 2000 is located roughly 90 kilometers north of Nice. The nearest transport hub is Nice Côte d'Azur International Airport (NCE), accessible in about 90 minutes by rental car or regular shuttle bus connections.
The European Air Quality Index (AQI) measures the presence of particulate matter and gases. Values between 0 and 20 indicate very clean air. Above 50, air quality can noticeably decrease for sensitive individuals.
Our pollen index tracks the concentration of the most common allergens. A 'High' status means strong dispersion, which can directly impact hay fever symptoms in the region of Isola 2000.
